FREQUENZA - ALEX NEMEC & NIK FERAL - AGAINST THE WALL EP
01. Against the Wall
02. Knotted Dream
03. Smile At Each Other
Alex Nemec & Nik Feral have been working together now for a few years and hot on the heels of their releases on Bush, General Surgery, Stripped and many more, the guys deliver a superb three-tracker “Against The Wall” which showcases their impressive skills to cross the lines between genres.
The title track “Against The Wall” is a mixture of punchy beats, crisp and rolling percussive elements fused with rhythmic chord progressions and a pulsating sub baseline while sharp hats and rolling snares cleverly fill up the groove along various sonic synth stabs that add the extra touch.
“Knotted Dream” goes straight in with a potent groove while modular synth riffs and percussive fills start building things up and creat a hypnotic vibe that slightly evolves and builds up more tension with dramatic pads along th way. This is the one for the dark rooms.
Rounding things off we find “Smile At Each Other” where the duo shows more their groovy side. Deeper beats, bubbling baseline and catchy vocal snippets play along with various grooving percussions while the pads build up some hypnotic vibe overall.
