Solar Distance is a label project from UNER whose deep and melodic sound fuses elements of both House and Techno.
Signing music from fresh talent such as Fideles plus Lower & OSp, the label has also featured music from UNER himself, along with Petar Dundov, SIS, Copy Paste Soul, Lee Van Dowski and Philip Bader.
The new release is from Cleave Martinez, which is the DJ and production alias of Spanish born Hugo Marti, whose music can be found on labels including Tenampa, Traum and Natural Rhythm.
Originally from Barcelona but currently based on the Indonesian island of Bali, he boasts DJ residencies at both Woobar and Jenja.
Having become one of one Bali’s most sought after artists, he plays regularly across the island and also in neighbouring Singapore, where each week he plays alongside some of the world’s best DJ’s.
“Vision Air” has deep atmospherics with gliding synths and tribal drum samples sequenced into mechanical rhythms, which jerk and sway as they flow. Filled with cosmic vibes, the tracks lead synth has gentle modulation which adds to its laid back and uplifting vibe.
“Metropolis” is given an organic groove with the use of a conga loop that compliments the intricate synth work and crisp clap sample. Tailor made for Balearic sunsets, this track is both epic and perfectly understated.
“Memoria” starts with some jazzy synth work and stripped back percussion, which are soon joined by a rumbling bassline. Chic and stylish, this melodic track provides a compelling example of how less can often be more.
“Finale” centres around broken rhythms that combine with dramatic synths to create an avant-garde groove. Thoughtful and intelligent, this track fuses a medley of textures into dreamy electronica which is eloquent and captivating.
