DAOU Records (in association with KID Recordings) partners with Traxsource to deliver exclusive Expanded Deluxe Editions of Vanessa Daou's classic solo albums - 'Zipless (Songs From The Works Of Erica Jong)' [1994] and 'Slow To Burn' [1996] - including the remastered original albums alongside archival remixes from the period, many of which are either rare, out-of-print and/or previously unreleased digitally.

ZIPLESS (SONGS FROM THE WORKS OF ERICA JONG):
Vanessa Daou's landmark 1994 solo debut and collaboration with acclaimed feminist/poet/novelist Erica Jong (issued on Krasnow Entertainment/MCA Records) catapulted the poetic chanteuse into the international spotlight with its sensual erotic poeticism, fragrant melodies, spacious arrangements and slinky "electronic jazz-pop-dance" grooves (courtesy of her musical partner and husband, Peter Daou) and Vanessa's own sultry, breathy vocals as the centerpiece.

The pair had already established themselves in the underground club scene as The Daou with their explosive dancefloor anthems "Surrender Yourself" and "Give Myself To You" (released on pioneering New York dance imprint, Tribal Records), which would become definitive 90's house music classics. However, with 'Zipless', the duo delivered a sophisticated and darkly enchanting opus simmering with evocative - meditative and narcotic - songs that resonated with underground and mainstream audiences, alike.

The bewitching 10-track set - which includes Vanessa's inimitable signature hits "Near The Black Forest" and "Sunday Afternoons", alongside treasured deep cuts like "Becoming A Nun", "The Long Tunnel of Wanting You" and "Alcestis On the Poetry Circuit" - was an innovative musical hybrid fusing jazz, pop, dance, trip-hop, spoken word, ambient electronica and chilled-out downbeats into an intoxicating brew that was equally visceral, sensuous and sublime. It remains one of Daou's most iconic, influential and singular works.

This exclusive Traxsource Deluxe Expanded Edition features the remastered original album alongside nine additional archival remixes from the period by Olive, Jazzy Nice and Mitch Moses, Peter Daou and Tony Edwards, Chillfreez and Danny Tenaglia, including the previously unreleased "Mother's Quality Time" mixes of "Near The Black Forest" by UK duo Mother (aka Jools Brettle and Lee Fisher) and Tenaglia's ultra-rare "Sunday Afternoons (501 Dub)", where the legendary house music pioneer serves up a sparkling afterhours "loft in paradise" styled mix with re-recorded vocals by Vanessa which float majestically over Peter Daou's exquisite melodic keys and Danny's soulful and hypnotic jazzy-house grooves.
