Open Records is proud to present our first release from Timmus, yet another amazing artist to emerge from hotbed of talent that is Australia's cultural capital Melbourne.
Possessing a style and sound completely of his own, Timmus has fast earned a reputation as one of Australias most creative and innovative DJs and producers, with Squzzle Kleph a perfect example of his minimalistic, experimental funk.
Squizzle Kleph is the EP that nearly never was. The original files were lost, however Timmus was able to produce a brilliant rework based on the remix package. Quirky, groovy and nothing short of epic (it clocks in at over 10 minutes), the original is but a taste of the future from this inspired Aussie wizkid.
First up on remix duties is FunkForm, another of Australia's brightest young stars. With his music on high rotation from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Luis Jr, D-Nox, Digweed and loads more, the writing is definitely on the wall for the Cairns-based producer. Delivering a stunning rework in his trademark warm and atmospheric house style, it follows his successful release Comes And Goes, which reached No.18 on the Progressive House Releases Charts.
Finally, closing out the EP is Retza, another fresh Melbourne artist on his first release with Open. Equal parts deep and solid, his pulsing low-slung grooves are a perfect end to this diverse showcase of new Australian talent. Enjoy!
