US Soul legends The Fatback Band make a welcome return with a scorching brand new single titled 'Feel the Fire' for UK label BKO Productions. Featuring the electric soulful voice of Scottish Born, US resident Isabelle Gordon, this weighty soul-drenched funky outing comes packaged with additional mixes from, UK Latin and jazz pioneers Bah Samba who deliver a delicious sunny groove; USA Loveslap label boss Charles Spencer who packs a punch with a monster urban house flavoured outing; Brazil's DJ MEME who conjures up some disco house magic; and upcoming UK talent Cookie Monsters who raise the temperature with a peak time house mix deemed to burn the house down!..

In a time where many of the great rhythm-and-blues acts from the past seem to be fading fast into revival band status,The Fatback Band has managed to hang tight with many of its founding members still on board, still consistentlytouring the world and keeping the funk alive since their debut album back in 1971. It's driving force Bill Curtis theever-present ring master is responsible for about 35 album releases over the years. All have featured infectious, hipshaking dance music.

In the 1970s and '80s, Curtis and his Fatback cohorts churned out a cluster of hit singles that shimmied up the R&B charts. Disco and funk fans alike were left drained after grooving to such taut, rhythm-muscled Fatback platters as I Like Girls, Let's Do It Again, Backstrokin', Yum Yum (Gimme Some), Wicki Wacki, I Found Lovin',
Spanish Hustle, Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money) and the all singing, all dancing Bus Stop. Last year saw Fatback classic's hit the floors again, teaming up with Bah Samba for reworks of Spanish Hustle and Let The Drums Speak to great acclaim for BKO. Earlier this year saw the boys release the new album Fatback Band Live In Tokyo. Since their debut single 'Carnival' 1995, Bah Samba aka Julian Bendall, have been dubbed as one of the UK's most prestigious latin-jazz fused dance bands . They unleashed their self titled debut album in 2001, followed by the Latin Lounge Session, and Eclectica both in 2004 and their Bah Samba 4 album for BKO in 2005. The same year they unveiled smash singles 'Portuguese Love' and 'Calma'. Bah Samba have remixed the likes of Muro to Alexander O Neal, and of course The FatBack Band. Charles Spencer is the proprietor of San Francisco's noted dance music concern Loveslap Recordings, he over sees Charles writes, plays, produces, engineers, and mixes innovative, cutting-edge house music, on his own and in collaboration with Mauricio Aviles as Movido, with Marc Alan Gray as Spencer Gray, and with Nick Santillan as Behind The Groove, and many others. A native of Rio de Janeiro, DJ MEME is best known as Brazil's top House DJ and most critically acclaimed and successful remixer/producer. Having produced remixes for the likes of Shakira, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Dido, Des'ree, with new remixes forthcoming for Jamie Lewis, Michael Watford, Audiowhores, Hanna Hais and Kenny Bobien. Meme also records under the guise Mandala as well has his own name with productions including 'Viva' (Knee Deep) and 'Patolada' (Defected/Fluential). Upcoming UK production duo, The Cookie Monsterz comprise two school friends, Happy & Gareth. Happy comes from a djing background with 12 years experience under his belt, Gareth, a musician. Last year the boy's had their first single signed to the Audiowhores new imprint Tempogroove Records, titled 'The Way We See It'. With more releases on their way, the future is looking bright for these two cheeky monsterz!!
