An artist of immense talent from the "Lone Star State," Derek Howell has continued to astound peers and fans alike with his distinctive production style. Originally part of the "Master Lux's Movement Emporium" EP on Proton Music, the 3-track 2009 EP was a true highlight. Already receiving two remix packages on Yin :: Yang, a third now sees a pair of Mexican talents take centre stage.

Owner of the successful Hookah imprint that has seen performances from leading lights such as Kastis Torrau, Hot TuneiK is at the forefront of the underground dance scene in his native Mexico and far beyond its borders reach. Regular DJ appearances across Mexico have pushed a distinctive style as he tries to, "mix my life as I do with the music". Production credits feature on a host of impressive labels that include 3rd Avenue, Temporum and 76 Recordings.

Now reworking Derek Howell, the Hot TuneiK remix of "Runner" is a smooth cadenced offering that melds components from the original with sublime additional production in a gliding, groove-oriented affair. Intricate percussive sequences combine with rich bass and melodic flair that reaches a zenith in a delicious, delay-filled and white-noise fuelled breakdown that juxtaposes expertly against the rhythmic underpinning.
