Nini Maluks is a producer, composer, a live electronic music performer and founder of Laminar-Wavy Records which is an independent record label based in South Africa. Nini Maluks' live performance really shows how fast it is to start from nothing and build a full arrangement. Each song is created/composed, improvised, remixed, performed and transitioned live, on the fly.
Nini Maluks is grateful for yet another opportunity to express and share his musical concepts with his followers and supporters. "Cardiac Invasion" is the sixth release for Laminar-Wavy Records by Nini Maluks, which once again, brings out distinctive qualities in his exceptional arrangements, mixing, moving bass lines and production as a whole. He continues to produce music that transmits a mixture of what Nini Maluks interprets as a combination of soulful house, broken beat, lounge, deep house and jazz genres.
Nini met singer, performer, song writer Jarrad Ricketts in Cape Town in 2014, and they have always wanted to work together since then. Cardiac Invasion was a perfect opportunity for them to do so.
Bold, fresh and dynamic are just some of the words used to describe talented Cape Town born vocalist, Jarrad Ricketts. He has been wowing crowds nationally and internationally with his slick pop and jazz delivery and captivating performance style. Jarrad Ricketts has set the tone at many corporate events by performing a combination of his original music and covered material watched and popular TV shows. On the coast of Spain, Jarrad has led a 6 month solo show on Menorca Island, where he performed popular hits at venues such as Sagatario, Copa Cabana, San Luis, Sol Menorca and Viva Menorca to name a few. Jarrad Ricketts also facilitates an "Aspiring Artists Workshop"{, where he mentors singers in Cape Town alongside other established musicians and now sits on the board of trustees of the African Musicians Trust.
Nini Maluks met Evidence Nxumalo, who is an accomplished trumpeter, composer, arranger and producer in 2016. Originally from Limpopo, Evidence’s love of music took him to Pretoria, South Africa, where he formerly trained in classical and jazz music for his National Diploma in Music. His diverse influences include Afrojazz, Traditional/Folk Music, Xigaza and R&B. He’s been playing the trumpet for 16 years and counts Jimmy Dludlu, Caiphus Semenya, Wynton Marsalis, Hugh Masekela and Freddie Hubbard as his musical heroes.
