Colour In Music is treating us with their 19th release, this time with music by Edinburgh based project Meek with the 'Blayre' EP.
The title track is a delicate piece of house music, driven by a thick carpet of filtered pads, hushed vocal bits and a reduced, yet punchy ryhthm section.
Munichs Rhode and Brown give 'Blayre' the old school treatment with their '707 Affair Remix', focusing on the eponymous 80s drum machine, airy synth melodies and a few glimpses of the original pads.
The second track on the Ep is called 'Dub 90' and, as the title suggests, revolves around a percussion heavy dub groove, slices of repetitive vocals and an array of gated atmo synths.
The Marcus Raute remix of 'Dub 90' sticks to a similarly stripped formula, but adds a twist after the break, where the track goes into a deep, enexpected frenzy of warm pads, a raw saw bassline and evolving arpeggio lines.
