From the land that brought you such amazing artists as Black Coffee,
Culoe De Song, Liquideep and Goldfish, come a slew of new releases
on Dopewax. The first lands on our shores from a talented native of
Pretoria, namely Cornelius SA, who effortlessly grabbed our attention
with his debut deep house single, "Heaven." Although new to Dopewax,
he's not new to the game with releases already on NIck Holder's DNH
Records and support from the likes of Tim White (House Afrika), T-Deep
(Metro FM), Essential-i (Deeptone Recordings), and Themba Moshidi
(GoGo Music). He delivers a real sexy groove to "Heaven" with its
dulcet chord jabs, slow pulsating rhythms, a plucky bassline, and easy
flowing synth washes. Woven throughout his beautifully non-invasive
production is the voice of Honey Molasses, a fellow native newcomer,
who you're sure to hear more about after folks get an ear shot of her
neo-sensual vox. There's even an instrumental version for those who
prefer a sultry background soundscape. "Heaven" by Cornelius SA
featuring Honey Molasses is a true testament to the quality of amazing
tunes coming out from deep in the bottom of Africa, and this is just
the beginning. Big up the South African massive!
