LDR022 - Aarin Fraser
Through Darkness I See Light EP
For the first time ever, the excellent Lucid Dreaming label turns to label boss Aarin Fraser for its next release. Featuring two killer cuts and a remix from SIS, it is a long overdue outing from the talented producer.
Australian Aarin has been an acclaimed DJ and producer for years. he has a well informed sound that is deep and moody as well as being hugely effective on the floor. Here he proves that in fine form, starting with opener Through the Darkness I See Light. It is a surging, late night track with spiritual synths stretching out into the sky. Driving drums and slick metal perc help oil the groove and lift you off your feet.
Another Way is a deeper, just as driving tune that is hunting and spooky thanks to the undulating pads up top. Growing in stature throughout the eight minutes, some muffled female vocal sounds add a human heart to the musical arrangement and ensure it will stand out in any set.
Germany’s SIS (8Bit, Cecille, Desolat and more) rounds out things with a thumping remix full of lithe synths, bouncing drums and warm chords that really will add to your rush on the dance floor.
This is a fine EP from Fraser and his label that is sure to make its way into many essential DJ sets and record bags this summer.
