Next up on Souvenir's unrelenting release schedule is a rare collaboration between Canada's own Maher Daniel and Spanish duo, Audiofly. Their combined CV makes for dizzying reading - under their various pseudonyms/collaborations they've released on (deep breath) Moodmusic, Get Physical, SAW, Connaisseur, Kickboxer, Tsuba, Maschine and Mobilee. Now, the trio combine their talents for the first time on Tiefschwarz's 10-years-in-the-game label, Sounvenir. The release is a powerful, experimental and original duo of cuts that slither and pulse somewhere between techno, electro and minimal. First track, 'Cluster of Stars', is a perfectly subtle, slow building beauty that drives forward with its own dark, dusky agenda. It's glowing melodies and echoing arpeggios bring some light as pummeling and clipping percussion hold it firmly in place. Flip side, 'Loves Inside' is a deeper, bubbling brew complete with shady vocal snippets, shimmering stabs and deep-electronic fidgeting. It's an introspective debut from three on-point producers who aren't afraid to take their time, think deeply about the end product and slides beautifully into the Souvenir catalogue.
