- After three years of quality releases, Names You Can Trust is ready to drop its first collaborative full-length project. For this release, a diverse set of talented DJs, producers and bands from around the world were chosen to have their pick of the NYCTrust catalog to remix and rework. While adding their own sense of style and flare, these artists stayed true to the label's own sensibilities of releasing only the highest quality music for dancefloors and discerning listeners alike. TM Juke had a successful solo career before hooking up with powerhouse singer Alice Russell. He now orchestrates her music and collaborates with drummer Jack Baker on dancefloor-ready bangers. Naturally, the duo took a liking to 'Tabaco Y Ron' and reworked it into a percussion-heavy monster. The Fulanos Band are a Barcelona-based group who've backed up Joe Bataan and released several serious Latin Funk records of their own. They took a shine to the Midnight Lab Band's 'The Forgotten Chant' and turned in a raucous live version that won't be forgotten anytime soon.London's Colman Brothers, from the Wah-Wah 45 imprint, are masters of the Jazz dancefloor, and prove it with a wicked live take on GRC's 'Guajira '78.' Sabroso!Jazz & Milk? We like 'em both creamy and fat and that's what the German label boss Dusty gave us with his rendition of GRC's 'Salsa Verde.'We head down south, all the way to Salo Paulo, Brazil to be exact, where Tahira & TRZ as Fumuca Jazz drop a tab in your nightclub cocktail and turn GRC's 'Secret Stash' interlude into an extended psychedelic jazz trip.Next up, the San Francisco Bay Area checks in as rapper Replife flows over a reimagined version of 'TNT Breeze,' by beatsmith Spinnerty (recently heard on Joy Jones' debut on Record Breakin').Exclusive to this Digital release are 2 additional tracks that include an alternate party breaks version of 'Tabaco y Ron' from TM Juke and a remix of the Midnight Lab Band track 'Twilight Reprise' from DJ DRM of Brooklyn's Bastard Jazz label.
