After a whirlwind first year of releases from label runners Shaun J. Wright & Alinka that featured remixes from the likes of Kim Ann Foxman, JD Samson, Snuff Crew and Lil' Mark, with support from BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac and Heidi alongside notable artists Kenny Glasgow, Groove Armada and Robert Owens, their Twirl imprint is back and expanding the labels roster with new material from the fresh and innovative UK-based artist, Spatial Awareness.

The EP opens with the title track 'Ill City Exit', a bubbling, atmospheric tune that draws upon Spatial Awareness' expert ability to craft driving yet economical dancefloor destroyers. Its infectious bassline gradually morphs throughout, charming its listeners into the song's paradoxical universe of darkness and light.

Hannah Holland, label boss at Batty Bass Records, deftly remixes 'Ill City Exit', amping up the original's darker elements with punchy percussion and twisted effects, and displaying the utmost versatility between a peak hour hit and after-hour groove.

Next up is 'Homba', a pulsating tech house number with eerie pads, sharp snares and a sensual, sinewy acid line. Each twist and turn of this killer tech tune will certainly propel the dancefloor into a higher state of revelry.

Shaun J. Wright & Alinka recraft 'Homba', expanding upon the original's muscularity with their signature jacking house sound. The track simmers and builds steadily beneath Wright's haunting vocal reference to the mysterious creature that inspired the song's title before catapulting into an angular, surprising climax.
