“If we can stand together, then we’ll get strong together” is Skyla J’s introduction to In:Command Records third release of 2015, Rising Up. Producers Saliva Commandos, Lazaro Casanova and Casamena provide three distinct offerings of this positive, uplifting testament to bonding together to achieve the otherwise impossible.
British Columbia born Skyla J is a vocalist, musician and producer. She records every element of her music herself giving her vocals a personal depth and strength. Rising Up’s Spoken Word piece and lyrics are written and performed by Skyla J and weave through the air with charged energy, rising as the tempo of the music does.
Saliva Commandos original production takes an intense focus on the nuances of Skyla J’s voice heightened by synths. Lazaro Casanova’s Coyo Remix amps up Rising Up into a deep, vibrant mix that drives the message through the atmosphere. The Casamena Remix takes a sharp cross over direction into the funky and deep, accentuating the vocal rhythmic intensity.
