Intensity of Sound is the solo project of Marcel. Growing up in Frankfurt, Germany Marcel was introduced to pop music of the 70s by his parents, but when a friend played him The Robots by Kraftwerk he was captured by the sound. Marcel gravitated toward electronic pioneers the Human League, OMD and Gary Numan and eventually New Order, which lead him to DJing when he moved to Texas. In 1989 Details magazine voted him a Top 10 most progressive DJs in the US and he claimed runner up in Razormaids New Beat Contest.

Moving back to Germany in the 90s Marcel began producing with Kay Praag (Alter Ego) for several releases on Phuture Wax records. Marcel produced Drifting Away with vocalist Kim Bennett and re-connected with a Texas friend starting a house and downtempo label, 3345 Music. Intensity of Sounds releases on 3345 Music have been charted by top international DJs, heard in major motion pictures numerous television programs in the US and Canada as well as TV and radio advertisements. A style defined by impeccable production, emotional complexity and tremendous groove.
