Mi Estudio / Two Ninety One

Pfirter, Function, Jerome Sydenham

CLR
CLR030 | 2010-04-12
Make way for the second 10" release of the 10 Years CLR cycle. While all tracks have been mixed by Chris Liebing for the massive 12 track compilation, they appear first as singles. Every track is exclusively and specifically produced for this purpose. This second installment features exclusive tracks by Function vs. Jerome Sydenham and Pfirter. The A-side comes courtesy of South American icon Pfirter. Titled ‘A Mi Estudio’, this is one of the biggest tunes that Chris has been playing out and about in the past 6-8 months. Having already played this track in Ibiza with notable effect, Chris states ‘Everywhere I go this track causes the biggest damage on the dance floor’. Noticing Juan Pablo Pfirter releases on Stockholm unlimited, alongside other labels, Chris decided to contact him personally and ask if he wanted to do something for CLR. Turns out they had met before as Juan mailed back ‘Hey Chris, nice to hear from you, you know that we have met before because I was your host at the Winter Music Conference / Festival in Argentina in Buenos Aires back in 2004’. Of course Chris did not really remember him as Juan was his driver, but soon got to spend some time together in the studio in Frankfurt, where Chris mixed the release with him. Here we go with Juan Pablo’s great hit ‘mi Estudio’. In Chris’s own words ‘This track creates the biggest damage and is a lot of fun’. Quite an interesting story for the B-side, since you all should know Function: whose real name is Dave Sumner. Chris met the Sandwell District head, who now resides in Berlin, the last time they both played at Berlin’s cavernous club Berghain. Function mentioned to Liebing that he had collaborated for the first time with Mr. Ibadan, Jerome Sydenham, and had thus produced a track together, which they both immediately decided would be perfect for CLR. Named ‘Two Nighty One’ this conscious altering, dynamic track will also be available as an additional digital release edited by Chris Liebing himself.
