Hot Lipps Records is back with their next instalment, Subculture EP. The release comes courtesy of Italian producer, Alex Kennon, and Ibizia based producer, DJ Oliver. Alex and Oliver have produced separately for years both with an impressive string of releases in a relatively short period.

The three tracks they have produced together for this EP will take you on a bumping journey through House! The EP starts off with the title track, Subculture, which tunes into a funky, soulful and deep laid back house track. The combination of keys, pads, timely percussion and old school vocal snippets fit this jam into an unstoppable groove. Discover is the second track and it has a slightly darker and moodier vibe. The combination of the subtle baseline, stabs and vocal bits show a nice craftsmanship in their production. Heritage is the third track which has an irresistible swing with little background elements - the track takes a bit of a different direction at the 2:30 mark with some unexpected keys which ties things together nicely and gives the track a warm and deeper feel.

Label owners, Hot Ljpps Inc., round out the EP with their techified interpretation of Subculture. The track makes use of a few vocal snippets from the original, but otherwise sounds like an original production. The driving baseline, reversed keys and bits of percussion all equal a no non-sense straightforward underground feel.
