The 37th release on Nikko.Z's Dopamine Music features the debut of Ezequiel Arias to the label. The Argentinean artist was introduced to the electronic music underground with a release on Balkan Connection South America in December of 2013. Ezequiel's 'L'Apprenti' appeared on the labels 'NuBlood XVIII' compilation and showcased his deep and enchanting progressive sound. 2014 saw further success for Ezequiel with an EP for Lowbit Records and a remix for Soundteller Records. Dopamine Music now presents Ezequiel's first original music of 2015 with 'I Don't Belong Here' and 'Sometimes' which look to be his finest work yet.
Ezequiel's lone 2015 production, a remix for System Recordings found the Argentine showcasing the most intricate and emotional melodies of his career. The lead track here 'I Don't Belong Here' finds Ezequiel with a moody and more subversive production. It's rough bass stabs, rolling grooves and haunting motifs create an intriguing storyboard. Trippy effects obliterate your senses while the chugging framework builds momentum. The main break enhances the mysterious themes with a dark, gaseous soundscape and intense build that sets up a groovy finale. A fabulous production from Ezequiel.
The EP's second and final selection 'Sometimes' proves to be the perfect complementary piece. Another huge groove sets the basis for the production while an array of processed vocal elements prove to be the ultimate sonic delight. A slow burning melancholic theme develops over the first act and leads the production into the main break. Glassy keys and a windswept atmosphere further the charming ambience before an understated build brings the beats back for a wonderful moment. Two top tunes from Ezequiel which are undoubtedly his best to date. Don't miss them!
