Rotunda

Pittsburgh Track Authority & Nice Rec

Pittsburgh Tracks
PGHTRX-002 | 2017-09-01
Pittsburgh Tracks returns with a collaboration between label heads Pittsburgh Track Authority and Nice Rec of East Liberty Quarters and Harmony Society Records fame. The artists first teamed up on PTA's First Four EP, and this release continues the vibes in a soulful direction over four tracks in different styles.
A1. Rotunda
'Rotunda' leads things off with warm, summertime chords laid out over a fat jazzy broken beat. Disco/boogie legend Craig Peyton drops a ridiculously ill electric vibes line on top, taking an already fresh track to the next level.
A2. Snap Off
'Snap Off' is a smoking deep house cut, combining Nice Rec's sampled and chopped Rhodes with PTA's characteristic synth arpeggios. Huge sub bass and finger snaps keep it funky and hot for the dancers.
B1. Get Out Of Your Head
'Get Out of Your Head' is an epic disco jam, taking things just over the top enough to guaranteedly sprinkle ecstasy into any set. PTA's arrangement and Nice Rec's blissed out electric piano and Moog bass is a distinctive and sweet combination.
B2. Pittsburgh Rich
'Pittsburgh Rich' takes influence from thick, sticky 80s electro, but with that special 412 flavor. Imagine looking over the city while driving down Grandview Ave. on a summer night, and you're getting an idea of what it means to be 'Pittsburgh rich.'
