In Violet's own words "the whole ep (River Styx EP) is inspired by a Jeff Mills rave i went to with my better half Photonz and the spiritual teachings we've been integrating since".
It is from these transformational experiences, expressed with uncontrived innocence and without cynicism, that Inês Coutinho AKA Violet draws the inspiration for her jacking, mystically-inclined productions. There's something simultaneously ancient and futuristic about the rhythmical building blocks and ethereal melodies of her tracks, making them seem ilke out of phase with the present - as if narrating about a non-local, non-linear existence that overlaps utopian Fifth Empire, Aztec rites, Greek mithology and Atlantean flying technology. For the remix we've got a slamming rework from Lisbon's own techno dark lord Shcuro, fresh from setting up his own imprint Sombra.
