20 years on one of house musics greatest achievements receives a blessing from a new version. The Nighwriters Let The Music Use You was a warehouse/club/rave classic, an historical event in the era of acid house and rave culture. This new version by Warehouse 5 retains the euphoric, heartwarming magic of the original with a driving main room groove alongside a bigger bassline and rushing synth sweeps, keeping the originals soulful heritage and updating it for today's discerning dance floors. Combine that with a spine tingling vocal performance from Marcus Begg and you will realise why DJ's currently playing the promo like Ashley Beedle and Frankie Knuckles are re-living the dream!
Let The Music Use You was originally recorded by The Nightwriters back in 1987 before the beginning of the Chicago house music explosion.
Produced by house music legend Frankie Knuckles with Ricky Dillard delivering one of the era's finest vocals.
The record has since been covered by various people, although each cover has never retained the original's soulful uplifting magic.
In keeping with Chicago's musical history, one of the unsung hero's of house has been drafted in to keep the new version's feet firmly on the ground. Crag Loftis AKA Grand High Priest who, along with Joe Promised Land Smooth on keys, gives the track a more understated cooler Chicago feel with 3 killa mixes. The GHP Bonus beats and Dub Reprise actually work as one long version and the GHP vocal keeps things soulful without having to work too hard.
This is Warehouse 5's first outing on vinyl as a collaboration.
Grand High Priest has had recent success with the underground club smash Mary Mary The record was a worldwide smash gaining support from Kenny Dope, Louie Vega, Danny Krivit, Dennis Ferrer, Karizma to name a few...
His recently signed Strictly Rhythm track Mixdown has been one of the biggest tracks downloaded from Traxsource.
