With retro deep house and garage stylings currently in vogue, Alex Agore is one of the few producers to create tunes that genuinely evoke the spirit of London and NYC in the 90s. Lead track 'Do It' sounds like a long lost slice of US deep house that could have appeared on Strictly Rhythm or Nervous Records in their heyday. The next two tracks pay homage to the golden age of UK-styled garage; 'I Miss Your Luv' takes on the bumpy, soulful grooves of 24 Hour Experience and Tuff Jam, while 'Tygah Style' gives a nod to the darker, bass-driven sounds of R.I.P Productions and Nu Birth. The E.P. closes with 'Mistakes', a downtempo synth-soul lament that calls to mind 80s groove legends Loose Ends. Guangzhou Underground is a new label dedicated to bringing the sounds of underground dance music to China, to educate minds as well as move feet. As such, we are proud to present the Do It E.P. as our inaugural release.
