Ask any of today's DJ talent to draw up a list of cats who influenced their careers and sound, and without a doubt Puerto Rico's Carlos Sosa, aka DJ Sneak will be commanding a prominent position. Since the mid '90's Sneak has preached the Chicago gospel and whilst many of his contemporaries were lead astray by the quizzically alluring mainstream glitz, the Magnetic Recordings boss stuck to his guns and forged onward. The past few years have seen somewhat of a renaissance for Sneak. As house music has taken centre stage again, his electric DJ sets and new music is more in demand than ever before. With his productions sitting pretty on a variety of labels, the likes of Spectral Sound, Desolat, Cecille, Tuning Spork and Be As One have all been touched by the master in recent months. His recent remix of H-Foundation for Soma is still ringing in our ears as he readies his latest cuts for Riva Starr's Snatch! As befits Snatch!, Sneak drops two pure jump-up party starters in the form or My Love and Can't Wait Another Day. A no nonsense 'hip-ripper', My Love delivers a suitably brilliant level of jacking' flavour. Can't Wait Another Day turns its attention to getting the ladies on the floor, with its filtered disco touch. Belgian Bad-Boy Ramon Tapia steps up to remix My Love and surprisingly dips it into some 'Chicago' goodness, delivering a very Sneak-esq rework.
