A Rather Coy 2014, Pt. 1

Various Artists

Oh So Coy Recordings
OSCR065 | 2014-04-07
Oh So Coy returns after a short hiatus and kicks 2014 off with a rather tasty selection spread out over 2 samplers.

Part 1 starts with the quirky funkiness of Come Show Me delivering a strong drum workout scattered with dirty keys and vocal snippets. Audubic is made up of Dan Johnson & Si Rawlings and their sound is admittedly heavily influenced by Swag Records & Wiggle - labels we certainly tip our hats to!

Next up is Midnight Social Recordings main man - Carlo Gambino. Responsible for a number of tight productions lately most notobaly on Jamie Jones' Hot Waves imprint.
Overlap graces us with a cheeky speed agarage-esque bassline and chopped guitar licks.

Glass Slipper hypnotize with the perfectly executed vocal workout - Surge. A new project from BradElectro & Lisa-Cork Twiss - a member of the successful 90's outfit Real McCoy. Delighted to be working with this talented twosome and their soulful yet chugging brand of vocal deep house.

These next guys we heard on a King Street promo and just knew we had to get em onboard! Soundealers made up by Vasco Lopes & Rafael Feliciano know how to turn out a house bomb perfectly melding a number of influences to form a sound uniquely theirs. Basstucada is taken from a forthcoming EP and is a smoky sax infused workout made for sundown.

Last but certainly not least we are happy to welcome BiG AL to the family. Most underground heads will know AL through Ready Mix Records or one of several other top imprints he runs not to mention the hundreds of labels he remixes for and the excellent production duo Harlem Knights. Here AL closes with the creamy Nu Disco synthlines and keeps things Pulsating.
