Lucky Strike

Victor Ruiz

Herzblut
HERZ39 | 2014-02-27
The trio behind our latest Herzblut release are the perfect blend of South American flair and European efficiency. German artist D-Nox has been at the forefront of the big room tech-house sound for more than a decade. Whilst his own music regularly dominates the charts, its as a label boss that he revels in unearthing new talent.

Now a regular on D-Nox's Sprout label, Victor Ruiz is one such discovery. The young producer from Såo Paulo, Brazil has enjoyed a break-through year and closed out 2013 in style with the inclusion of his and Alex Stein's 'Razor' on the Tronic 2014 Compilation. Bavarian-Brazilian Stein is the third member of our trio. Having spent the past seven years studying musical engineering in Frankfurt and Amsterdam, Alex is now putting his skills into practice and to great effect.

Two roof-raising cuts from the boys and its Lucky Strike that launches us with its thumping kick-drum, cascading synths and pulsing bass. Then we rise and rise before we're shot from their bubbling electronic cannon. On the flip Easy Riders opens with a spritely melody before the menacing and driving bass-synth drops and powers the track throughout.
