Sense of an Ending

Throughout 2013, Scott Andrews has become an important artist on the Proton Music roster. Under his Scotty.A production moniker, his original work in the form of, "The World Turns" and "Natural Senses" EPs has showcased the UK producer's considerable talents. The triptych that comprised the latter has already seen two full releases and a quartet of remixes from Silinder, Anthony Yarranton, Dousk and Mike Griego, while the third vignette now takes centre stage as "Sense of an Ending" completes the picture with remixes from the Netherlands and Argentina.

Eelko Wijnja has found significant success operating out of Friesland in his Dutch homeland. Under his Navar production pseudonym, Eelko has built a remarkable reputation for "diverse musical creations" that are tied together in their "deep and melodic" characteristics. His creative talents making waves throughout 2013, Navar's work was soon noticed throughout the elite DJ community as "La Paradigme" was picked up by Guy J and signed to his Lost and Found imprint. With other music signed to Klopfgeist, Baires and Eelke Kjeijn's Outside The Box, in techno, progressive and deep house flavours, further support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Marco Bailey has stamped Navar's credentials upon the underground dance community.

Reprising his original production, "Clean Sights" on the "Summer 2011" collection, Particles now welcomes back Navar and his richly textured interpretation of Scotty.A. Expertly extrapolating themes present in the original, Navar's remix of "Sense of an Ending" is a superlative study in composition. Exquisite soundscapes wash across the stereo spectrum accompanied by a cavernous bass groove, rippling arpeggio and glassy ostinato. A subtle driving beat and ticking hi-hat pattern complete the artistic landscape to provide a dynamic range of pure joy.

Argentinean, Luis Bondio, from Cordoba on the Suquia River, has been at the forefront of the modern underground music scene his debut for Kansak Recordings in 2010. Head of the Classound label and booking agency, Bondio's work has been signed to the full gamut of elite labels including, Mesmeric, Baires and microCastle. Furthermore 2013's year-end saw a prized inclusion on Nick Warren's historic, "XV" compilation for Hope Recordings, as a pairing with Santiago Teillagorry produced a remix of Warren's own "Buenos Aries" alongside such luminaries as Max Cooper and Leftfield.

His work supported by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Marc Poppcke and Luis Junior, Luis Bondio now reprises a successful remix of Juan Deminicis' "Past" for Proton in September 2013 with his take on "Sense of an Ending". A driving beat and sub bass provide a chunky backdrop as tribal percussive rhythms play their part in the upper frequencies. As the locked groove of bass and rhythm punch their way through an eight-minute voyage of discovery, liberally placed light twinkling pads add a juxtaposition that provides an elegant contrast to the dark undertones beneath the surface.

Two new remixes from Navar and Luis Bondio have ensured there is no "Sense of an Ending" for Scotty.A's "Natural Senses" EP.
