Now we know the term deep gets thrown around pretty frequently these days, but when we use it to describe the collaboration between Audio-Indika's own Ivan Gregory and Don Corrieri of Phuturetrax on our latest release, The Muted Heart EP, we're talking about more than just a word that comes before pitched down diva vocals and dark bass lines. We're talking about a title track that casts off amidst a set of funky stabs, and rolls out in all directions like the sonar bleeps of a deep-sea vessel. A vessel that descends deep into uncharted waters and encounters a sultry trumpet and her muted lover, who sing the hardships and passions of life in the deep sea, while soft vocals and a bubbling bass line fill the vast atmosphere around them.
And just when the depth pressure becomes too much to handle, we surface in a sleek speed-boat, powered by the infamous Chicago house music legend Doc Link, who pushes his remix up to peak hour speeds.
