Ghana's dynamic Afrobeat and Highlife fusion collective 'Village Junction' is proud to announce the debut release of their brand-new Album and remix singles, after the band connected creatively with Broadcite Music A&R and currator T.Roy at a remote festival in the Western region of Ghana, they decided to create a bold reimagining of their signature 'Highlife and Afro fusion' sound featuring collaborations with acclaimed UK producers DJ Wheel Up, Imanus x Reon Vanger and more.
Formed in 2019, the eight-piece band has earned a reputation for blending the vibrant energy of Afrobeat with the soulful rhythms of Highlife, African Jazz, and Afro-Funk. On this new release, Village Junction's powerful grooves and traditional African live nstrumentation meet the modern production genius of DJ Wheel Up — known for his rhythmic bass-heavy broken beat style — and the experimental electronic artistry of Imanus x Reon Vanger.
The result is a sonic journey that bridges continents and generations — from the indigenous sounds of the kologo, goje, and xylophone to the futuristic pulse of sub basslines on global dance floors.
"Our music is deeply rooted in African tradition, but these remixes take it somewhere completely new — it's a celebration of our heritage meeting the world," says Ebenezer Oben, Lead drummer and vocalist for Village Junction.
The remix project and full Hilife album will be available on all major streaming platforms with exclusive content and limited-edition vinyl.
