Once again Peng come up with a funky and fresh compilation, blending the styles of House/Jazz/Downtempo and Soul in one sweet package, compiled by Andy Compton from The Rurals. All songs on 'Soul Fields' are exclusive to Peng and are previously unreleased on CD. The CD starts with the Rurals remix of Mood Rotations 'Getting Started', a super soulful vocal song with Jazz Funk overtones. Next up is the dark broken beat jazzer 'Chopped', written by Italian dudes Moe Hairlines. The Rurals 'Breakdown' is next is line, classic deep house with a pumping acid bassline. D3's 'Green Lizard'cheers the mood up a bit, his jazzy Rhodes chords and George Benson style guitar make this number destined to be a NY style classic!. More deep house follows from The Rurals 'Days Gone By' featuring Tweek singing her sweet heart out, a fab song that missed being on the last Rurals album by a few days. Moe Hairlines then take the mood downtempo with 'Outrun', Poetic vocals and groove bluesy guitars rule this groove. 'Happy (In Dub') then takes the album to hypnotic deep house, with layered vocals and fat pads. 'Walk South Central' by Pete Mo proves it's not only west London creating broken beat, the area has now stretched to west Devon! Pete is the king of the clavinet and Hammond on this number. D3's 'Love Will Find A Way' shows that there's great things going down in Croatia! Warm and soulful Peng style deep house, with vocals from Ivana B. The album then winds down with one of the most beautiful instrumental songs ever, Moe Hairlines 'What We Had Loved', an epic, which just builds and builds..Enjoy!
