Made up of Toronto based producers Peter and Steve Primiani, formerly of 83 West Records and Camouflage Recordings, Hot Lipps Inc. unveil %u201CNeed In You,%u201D a house music track with a capital %u2018H%u2019 that masterfully harks back to nightclubbing%u2019s glory days. A rousing vocal is lifted from a classic record and incorporated in a smooth and sweet manner, while 909 rhythms and organ chords add to the %u201990s feel. This one truly aims to shake up the dance floor. A top shelf remix of %u201CNeed In You%u201D comes courtesy of Lost My Dog Records lead man Pete Dafeet who utilizes many of the original track%u2019s elements and adds his own magic touch. Relying strongly on the organ and bass lines, the arrangement builds purposefully with a definite after-hours appeal. Two bonus Hot Lipps Inc. original cuts follow, lead by %u201CStep Out Don%u2019t Stop%u201D which churns in a deep, dubby, bass-heavy fashion, propelled with inventive use of hip hop vocal samples. %u201CDay Before The Last%u201D closes the EP in the deeper zone, using flowing warm pads, a mid-tempo four-on-the-floor groove, and rhythmic vocal snippets to reveal a lush late night journey.
