This is the hotly anticipated third release on the new SoulFunktion Records label, following on from Daybreak and The Underground Seduction EP.
"It Drives Me" features the stunning vocals and song writing talents of London based vocalist Keisher Downie in her first collaboration with SoulFunktion.
SoulFunktion present 4 alternative deep and soulful mixes, each with a different twist on the original and there is also an unusual Journeyman Mix which takes proceedings to a different level. There is a bonus CJ Giovanni Chicago Mix to complete the package.
Keisher is a graduate from the Academy of Contemporary Music, having also attended the world famous Brits Performing Arts School. Equally comfortable performing soul and gospel as well as musical theatre, she is a star of the future, but Keisher is currently unknown to many in the house scene. The London born singer and songwriter has been spending the main part of 2013 honing in on her craftsmanship of top-line writing. Her release of 'Nobody' on Kerri Chandlers Madhouse Records label has opened the door and allowed her to work with various house producers including her current collaborations with the excitingly talented SoulFunktion Productions and Matt Jam Lamont's Solo Music. The singer explains "Live is where I come alive!... You can sit in a studio and write the songs, (and that's great) but singing your tunes live with an audience singing the words back is what it's all about!"
SoulFunktion is a collaboration between long standing London based DJ Wally Walton and the legendary UK House producer Brian Keys Tharme.
First having worked together in the 90s on releases for a variety of labels including Sweat, Narcotic and Catch Records (in which Brian was a partner with Gavin Face Mills of Copyright fame), the boys are now back together with their 25 years of experience at the top of the UK club scene to bring you their new productions.
In the intervening years, the boys have worked on remixes for some of the biggest names in House Music including Tuff Jam, En Vogue, Kristine Blonde, Usher, Tina Moore, CeCe Peniston, Juliet Roberts and Craig David to name a few. Brian has also played keyboards in the studio for the likes of Dave Lee (aka Joey Negro), Bobby & Steve and Booker T. During the same period DJ Wally could be found playing at the best clubs and parties on the London scene, including being resident at the notorious Roller Express rave venue throughout the 90s and more recently The Pirate Club and presenting a show on Pressure Radio.
