4 solid House cuts from Love Not Money's latest signing Sebb Aston here, an artist who's music has been causing a stir on the terrace of DC10 this summer and currently being championed by the likes of Jamie Jones & Eats Everything.
Sebb kicks off the EP with the peak-time production of 'Love Somebody Else', a track that sounds un-like anything else you've heard in recent times with it's own identity that instantly grabs your attention from the get-go by intelligently weaving a series of melodic riff's around the infectious, somewhat completely original bass sound. Sit that underneath a swinging drum pattern, anthemic piano chords and infectious vocal hook and you have a track that has the potential to encapsulate an audience and be one of the standout tracks of the summer.
On remix duties label boss Luke Pompey gets in on the action with his 'Tab of Acid Mix', a slightly more underground approach that fuses together main-room sounds with elements of Acid House, contributed to by the use of the classic Roland TB-303 creating a hypnotic synth line that works it's way across the back-bone of the track. Add that to a heavy Old Skool Jackin' bassline and subtle use of the piano stabs and you've got a re-work fit for the later hours and more discerning dance floors.
With remaining tracks 'Together Tonight', 'Nobody' & 'In Love With You', Sebb demonstrates the ease with which he travels across the spectrum's of music, taking pinches of inspiration from House, Hip Hop & Soul. Each track here is a crowd pleaser and rings true of Sebb asserting himself as an artist brimming with vision, confidence and ambition.
