Norwegian label ´Badabing Diskos´ takes a step into the surrounding forests of Oslo for the upcoming compilation ´Oslo Botanics´, befriending the organic sounds of house music.
Nature is unpredictable, and so is the sound landscapes of this third compilation EP. A dynamic three-tracker presenting a few new names associated with the Oslo club scene. UK born producer and mastering technician ´From Beyond´ has for some time been an integral part of life by the Oslofjord, while deep minimal head Slægi takes an inspirational breath at norways biggest lake Mjøsa, north of Oslo where he studies music production. Badabing botanist Villbass presents Jungelgutta (transl. the jungel lads) that just recently made their entry to the Oslo scene by playing fab eclectic dj sets all over town.
´Reconstructed Us´ is a trippy and bumpy stomper courtesy of ´From Beyond´, with resonant percussion ans synths popping up like buds in springtime, filling the gaps in between the more traditional house groove driven by a classic scandomental melodic bass line.
´Nökken´ is a mythical figure that by transforming himself into a beautiful horse or person lures you into lakes or rivers to drown, the only escape being naming him by his name Nökken, Nix, Nicker. With their suggestive rhythm and beautiful melodies, Villbass and Jungelgutta entices you into a lake of acid, and spits you back out as comfortably.
´Deilig Bris´ means «lovely breeze» in norwegian, defined by Slægi´s calming pads and heartbeat drums. Underneath lays a funky spectre of moist noise, vocal samples and comfortable quirks, making this a warm journey into the mudlands hidden between the norwegian mountain landscapes.
