We are big fans of the new UK Garage sound at Glasgow Underground. Artists like Zefer, MPH, Champion, Jack Walker, Oppidan and, of course, bigger names like Sammy Virji and Smokey Bubblin' B are all making it to our playlists. We love the effect this refocus on that nineties sound is having on the house scene in general, with more and more DJs adding some UKG flavour to their sets. The transition from the skippy and minimal house into a modern UK garage groove is easy. So it was no surprise when Lewraz, one of our favourite artists in that Minimal scene, dropped a gigantic garage-influenced banger on us. Drums straight out of the Armand Van Helden "Dark Garage" playbook and a Reese bassline to match deliver the groove, while UK chanteuse Yasmin Jane (already with multiple million streamers under her belt) delivers a hooky-as-hell topline. Straight fire.
