Croatian electronic music pioneers Ivo T Montina and Robert Grizilo, known as Cortex Thrill, team up once again with fellow Croatian artist Alan Kranzelic, aka Oversound, for the outstanding album titled ‘Manifest’. For over three decades, Cortex Thrill has been at the forefront of the European electronic music scene, continually evolving their sound and amassing a devoted fanbase. Their innovative approach and legendary status at Bonzai make each new release a highly anticipated event. Oversound, a DJ since 1995 and a key figure in Croatia's House Music scene, has played at top events nationwide. He also made history by opening Croatia’s first vinyl record shop, which inspired his artist name. This one follows the trio’s last effort here with ‘Entities’ and we’ve no doubt we’ll be hearing more from them in the future.

The album takes listeners on a cosmic journey across nine distinct tracks, each offering a unique sonic landscape. ‘Daedalus‘ sets the tone with arpeggio-driven melodies, tight beats and a rolling bassline that draws you in with its pulsating energy. ‘Polar Winds’ shifts to a darker, more intense vibe, featuring pacier rhythms, chunky kick drums and gated voices that intertwine with gritty stabs and rhythmic percussions. ‘Minos’ introduces a melodic and emotive touch, blending driving beats and a powerful bassline with trancey, rhythmic elements that evoke deep emotions. ‘Icarus’ ups the energy with a tougher sound, where an energetic bassline meets mesmerizing voices, soft melodies, and swirling FX that create a captivating and immersive experience. ‘Polaris’ delves deeper, with a chunky bassline and rhythmic beats setting the foundation for sweeping melodies, rising synths, and climactic acid lines that elevate the mood. ‘Dreamscape’ is in contrast, more of a slow burner, taking its time with deeper 808 kick drums, staccato plucks, deep bass, and gritty synths that gradually build intensity while ‘Eclipse’ layers 808 drums and percussions with cascading melodic arpeggios, wailing voices, and a raspy spoken vocal, all anchored by a subby bassline and hypnotic plucks. ‘Taurus’ shifts momentum with a club-inspired groove, featuring punchy kick drums and spritely percussions alongside ebbing and flowing synth pads and cosmic FX. Gentle voices and warm chords captivate the senses, keeping us hooked on the sound. The album closes with ‘Sunrise’, a tech-inspired sound, delivering a deep progressive groove with chunky kick drums, crisp percussions, dark tones and sub-level basses. Airy pads, hypnotic plucks, and distant melodics add rich textures that contribute to wrapping up the cosmic journey with a powerful, hypnotic finish.
