Seamless Recordings brings you the second single to be released from Venus In Motions new album Somebodys Heaven.
Venus In Motion is the alter ego of Angel Johnson a renowned House music DJ who began her career way back in 1991, a veteran of her trade and a pioneer in helping to break the stereotype of what was once considered a uniquely male vocation
As well as being an adoring fan and producer of the upbeat, four-four groove Angel has always written mellower songs and since childhood been intrigued by the emotive power of melody and lyrics. Early musical influences include Kate Bush, Cat Stevens and Rose Royce. In the early 90's the genre "Chill Out" was born and bands of the decade like Massive Attack and Nightmares On Wax further inspired Angel to want to record the songs that had gathered in her head. Some years later - with a burning desire and a leap of faith - her dream was realized and Venus In Motion was born.
Again & Again, is a beautiful day time track oozing with class. With delicately played Rhodes, sweet flutes and rhythmically perfect trip hop drums and a beautiful sung vocal from Cherry Mars this has summer chilled beach grooves written all over it.
On remix duties we bring in deep house don Giom. In a short space of time Giom has become one of the most highly sought after producers, remixers and DJs in the deep house scene. His own brand of quirky and eclectic house music is consistently found at the top of download store sales charts and in DJ sets from the jet-setting elite to bedroom jocks in every corner of the world. He has worked with labels including Large Music, King Street, Save Room Recordings and Defected Records. He has also remixed artists including Hector Couto, Jay-J and LawnChair Generals, and collaborated with Riva Starr, Fred Everything and Nathan G. In 2012 Giom topped Traxsource's top 100 chart for 6 consecutive weeks with his remix of Hector Couto's Let The Music Play.
In 2011 he released his first mix album Clips & Space for the acclaimed UK label Lost My Dog. The album saw him highlighted by iDJ Magazine as a 'Rising Star' and headlining London's Fabric for the launch party. Fabric is a regular booking for Giom, and his energetic sets have led to a hectic tour schedule which means most weekends he can be found headlining in clubs from Australia to the United States and back around mainland Europe.
Away from house music Giom's talents as a professional drummer are also highly sought after and have seen him tour and record for Alice Russell, The Nextmen and Kasabian amongst others.
For his remix he has produced an exquisite deep house rocker. As you would expect from a professional drummer the beats are perfectly programmed. Add to that a thundering phat bass sound which pushing the track along, and so precise occidental percussion sounds, this just grooves along with the verse of the track before dropping insome elegant pads which brings in the emotional side to the track that complements the vocals to perfection. This also comes with a dub for those who like less vocals in their tracks.
