Welcoming 2024 with an emblematic release, Purified Records presents ‘Sounder:Inhale’, a collaborative EP by Colombian producer Deviu and enigmatic duo Garlington. Combining deep, progressive and melodic textures, ‘Sounder’ expertly blends the producer’s styles to dramatic effect. Floating into ‘Inhale’, listeners travel across a diverse sonic arrangement, seamlessly fusing contrasting sounds and breakbeat patterns in a hybrid soundscape.

The ‘Sounder:Inhale’ EP artwork features a photograph of a tiger shark, captured by Daniel Nicholson. The tiger shark, named for the distinctive vertical bars on its body, is recognized as the second largest predatory shark after the great white. Tiger sharks are opportunistic feeders, consuming a wide range of prey (including fishes, invertebrates, sea birds, sea turtles, marine mammals, rays, smaller sharks, and even scavenged debris.) They mate through internal fertilization, giving birth to as many as 80 live young. While adults have no natural predators, juveniles may be preyed upon by other sharks, leading to differences in habitat preference. Although predominantly coastal, tiger sharks are found in tropical and temperate waters globally, facing a 'near threatened' status due to declining numbers from targeted and accidental fishing, and misconceptions about their threat to humans prompting unwarranted population control efforts. Organizations like The Shark Trust are dedicated to safeguarding the future of sharks, skates, and rays through science, conservation efforts, and raising public awareness.

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.
