Black Motion featuring Jah Rich is a musical combination that we're proud to have featured on Tribe Records before. In 2010 South African production duo Black Motion called upon ace percussionist and vocalist Richard 'Jah Rich' Rakgwale to feature in their track of percussive passion,'Banane Mavoka', (Clap Your Hands). It went on to become a massive hit, being widely recognized as the biggest dance song in South Africa, featured in many compilations and signed by Tribe Records for international digital release.

Black Motion, known to their friends as Thabo Smol Mabogwane and Robert 'DJ Murda' Mahosana, have since gone on to release their own album and become huge stars at home and abroad (they're just back from representing at the Miami WMC) but they've never forgotten the magical lyrical chants of their friend Jah Rich, who unfortunately passed on in October 2010.

Jah Rich was best known as a percussionist who played as a session musician for South Africa's finest artists, as well as for bands all over the world. He also became a solo vocalist after playing with the group Rhythmic Elements. Along with 'Banane Mavoko' he also recorded 'Mtshongola' with Black Motion, which bumps and jumps along to a truly kinetic, gotta-dance panoply of percussion and drum rhythms, carnivalesque whistles and Jah Rich'chants, vocals and invocations to party, and it is dedicated to the memory of Jah Rich.

The Mtshongolo package features a host of remixes, by Afshin of Parisian Djoon Experience, Renato Xtrova, a new up and coming DJ from Angola, South African producers Invaders of Africa and Swiss remixer Salvatore Freda from Lausanne.
