Sonic Grunewald Fields is an ambient music album, composed exclusively with field recordings of Berlin's Grunewald forest. Each song of the album is named after a sonically meaningful location in the forest and only contains sounds obtained in that particular spot.

The album elegantly balances nature and technology, passive recording and active composition, aleatory sound events and structured repetition. Advanced sound processing allows for the transformation of nature recordings into musical elements and motifs. Offering an aesthetic response to the ephemeral tones and pulses perceived in the raw sonic material.

The recording kit consisted of Zoom H4N Pro recorder, LOM Usi and Clippy EM272 omnidirectional microphones, Korg contact microphone, and Monkey Sound H27M hydrophone. In order to obtain a wide range of musical elements, the recordings have been processed through a rich palette of advanced digital sound processing tools like resonators, filters, envelopes, gates, compressors, delays, reverbs, granular synthesizers, wavetable synthesizers, equalizers, and spectral processors.
