Tribe Records has long been excited by the range of quality music coming out of South Africa, which is why we've been championing RSA artists since we released Out by Shana (Black Coffee's band) a few months after we launched our label in 2009.

This dynamic live house duo - Sai is the DJ and engineer, Ribatone delivers the vocals and keyboards and they share the production credits. Teamed up many years ago in Soweto and first came to our attention with their anthem 'Sunday Showers' on the Kentphonik album in 2007.

Sandile Mavuso (Sai) and Mahlatse Riba (Ribatone) subsequently remixed Black Coffee's 'Gardens of Eden' and later signed a production deal with his Soulistic Records label, which resulted in the release their debut album, 'Here & Now' last year. As one reviewer noted, 'Sai & Ribatone have done what few artists manage on the first try, and that is to put together an album of good music that you can also dance to.

As Sai explains it, 'Tonite', the first single off the album, is about the greatest night out that you've ever had with your friends that includes a celebration after working hard! It's a goodtime track that builds up slowly with a beautiful soulful vocal and soft, jazzy keyboard riffs and organ swirls, multi-layered harmonising and sophisticated arrangements of Ribatone's chorus and freestyle singing, so that this cleverly-camouflaged party track gradually becomes a bustling, uplifting party bumper.

The package is supported by remix from Libation founder/resident DJ Ian Friday. Which has already been receiving much love on the dancefloors globally.
