Italian producer Francesco Tarantini has enjoyed a fine time of it lately, with his last release, the Neapolis EP, perking
the ears of Laurent Garnier, Davide Squillace, Alexi Delano and various others. The 'Antitesi' EP sees him return to
Claude Monnet's SSOH imprint for another offering made all the more striking by its many eclectic qualities.
First up is 'How do you See me'; a quality enriched, dub flavoured record that's bolstered by its muffled voices,
sun-kissed melodic qualities and overall, groove-centric ethos.
'Say What' then features the sort of tribal percussion that'd make Danny Tenaglia wilt, with the latter matched with a
layer of horns and chopped vocals that'd appease Mr.Chandler himself. The spirit of America's east coast is most
definitely alive and well with this one.
The appropriately named 'Lights Out' is the last of the three originals, and is - by a distance - the punchiest too. Laden
with raw, hard hitting kicks and an almost playful melody, it signs off the EP with a simultaneously groovy yet morose
appeal. In all, this is a diverse release brimming with intricacies and hidden crevices that are well worth exploring.
