The Folkor Nation imprint was launched in 2020 by Adolpho & Franky as an offshoot of the Lausanne, Switzerland nightclub Folkor. Across its past five releases the label bosses have unveiled their signature cosmic leaning disco sound as the focal artists, while also welcoming an EP from CYRK and remixes from Alinka, Prins Thomas, Italo Brutalo and Jonathan Kusuma among others.
The original mix of ‘Some Like It Hot’ opens the release, laid out across seven minutes with funk-infused bass grooves, organic disco drums, twitchy resonant synth lines, plucked guitars and squelchy acid licks running alongside a vocal hook uttering the tracks title and a spoken word vocal.
Berlin’s Tegel Boys then remix ‘Some Like It Hot’ next, keeping the core feel of the original and adding their own stamp to things with a dynamic, ever unfolding feel.
