There are lot of new things happening on Dirty McKenzie's Bass United Recordings label out of Minneapolis USA. This preview compilation includes a fabulously retro Dirty McKenzie remix of a legendary track by a legendary producer (and now Daft Punk co-producer) Giorgio Moroder that sounds like it could have been produced by Moroder himself in 1978. With 'E=MC2' Moroder achieved one of his biggest pioneering moments by including the use of a vocoder in a Disco song for the first time. This is not a bootleg edit or a mash up of Moroder tracks but an actual re-mix using the master tracks of E=MC2 and additional compositions by Dirty McKenzie to achieve a mash up sound of two different Giorgio Moroder classics. 'E=MC2' and 'Evolution'. Despite all the above hype about the Dirty's Giorgio Moroder remix, the compilation actually opens up with a really. TRULY. fantastic Dirty McKenzie remix of one of his own tracks from last year's release when he used 'Nobiilo' as his alias with Sophia Shorai on vocals. Seriously fantastic track, totally different from the Disco/Funk heavy original, and a serious heater on the dance floor despite its chugging 109 BMP speed! Next up is the debut of newcomer Jenny Lovlein to the label, making a ghetto style appearance and channelling early Paul Johnson with 'Butterfly'. Jenny has two singles coming up on the label this spring with remixes by Dirty McKenzie and other heavy hitters. Also included in this compilation are up and coming Russian producer Andrei Swipe with a great retro piano cut and a fantastic and necessary 2013 facelift of Dirty McKenzie's 'Right On Time'. All tested on the dance floor and approved by Dirty McKenzie himself. This is just a small taste of what's currently happening and what's up and coming on this great Minneapolis label.
