Jimmy Brixton is an NYC-based music artist from London. Born in the early 90s in southern Italy, Jimmy emigrated to London as a young teen, after a turbulent childhood. Jimmy began his musical journey in 2009, studying at BIMM, and soon after he began to play in rock bands. Between 2010 and 2019 he recorded and released 4 EPs under the Italian name Marco Mestichella, and worked on side music projects working with producers and musicians. He graduated in Commercial Music Performance at the University of Westminster in 2015 and also studied at Tileyard and Access to Music. In 2020 he worked alongside his mentor Camille Barbone and decided to ditch his name and create a new artist name that would resonate with his stage persona better, choosing Jimmy (a nickname given to him as a child) and Brixton, as a tribute to London.
