We welcome Bristol based artist HUGEhands back to Piston Recordings with the superb ‘Free Fall EP’. His previous work, the ‘Funky Dumpty EP’, was a hit and a testament to his commitment to music. Raised in the West Country, he fell in love with dance music and spent the 90s searching for the next big rave. After mastering DJing and performing at top venues, he shifted his focus to producing electronic music, and has amassed an impressive collection of releases in just a few years. We're thrilled to have him back.

‘Free Fall’ opens the release with a solid thumpy kick drum and crispy hats pairing with a hypnotic pulse. Retro themed FX and a cool vocal shot add weight to the groove as the rhythmic status increases, forcing you to move. Smooth, vibey pads and his strings accompany subtle melodies as a funky bassline eases into the groove. Sublime stuff that will not disappoint. ‘Hope’ is up next, delivering a pacey deep house joint that will get the feet moving. Chunky beats and flurries of bright, sharp percussions lead the way as classic chord stabs feed in to the nostalgia ports of the mind. The groove retains a contemporary vibe with a groovy bassline and simple vocal shots adding that extra level of spice. ‘Victory’ concludes the release, opening with an infectious display of percussive power. Bright, melodic pads come through as a deep drone-like bass takes control of the groove. A plucky top bassline adds a rich dynamic alongside subtle vocals which are beautifully inserted into the groove. A funky element arises before the break which heralds in cool vocals and wispy pads which lead us to the final act. A top-notch joint that is not to be missed.
