Renowned Lausanne, Switzerland based nightclub Folklor launched its Folklor Nation imprint in 2020 and its fledgling back catalogue has played host to original material and remixes from the likes of CYRK, Prins Thomas, Lauer, Johannes Albert, Zombies In Miami and of course the label bosses themselves, Adolpho & Franky.
The original mix of ‘Red District Ballade’ opens, laying down elongated subs, chuggy arpeggio lines, tripped out synth licks and hypnotic vocal lines atop a bumpy, low slung drum groove.
The Zillas On Acid remix follows next and flips the focus over to a gnarly, oscillating and acid-tinged bass line as its core alongside skippy drums and fragments of the original ebbing and flowing throughout. Last up to round out the release is Italo Brutalo’s remix, the Bungalo Disco boss delivers a typically classy interpretation laid out across six minutes with mesmeric synth swells, multiple twitchy arp lines and raw, crunchy drums.
