Nas Elmes is a Dutch-Moroccan house artist based in Amsterdam. His musical background is in classical and modern piano, acoustic guitar and darbuka (a hand percussion instrument for the uninitiated!). This wide range of musical experience and a genuine love of house music shone through on his debut release for GU, the killer minimal groove, "A House Thing". His follow-up, "Bass Down Low", delivers the same slow-burning funky grooves but with added guitar licks and a wicked old-school vocal. Nautica premiered this one on their recent Deeperfect mix, and it should appeal to similarly-minded DJs looking for that deeper side of tech.
