This autumn sees the respected Millionhands t-shirt company launch Millionhands Music with the fittingly excellent %u2018Breathe Easy%u2019 release from the MH main-man, Tom %u2018Mango%u2019 Mangan.
Starting in 2009, Millionhands has since become one of the finest providers of t-shirts around with collaborations with the likes of Tiger & Woods, MCDE, Mock & Toof, Planet E and Adonis bucking the record label t-shirt trend and becoming as quality as the musical output itself. Initially started because of an equal love of music and clothing, Millionhands now takes the plunge into music with Millionhands Music %u2013 a vinyl-focused label with a remit termed only as %u2018fine electronic fumblings and music that makes you feel something%u2019.
%u201CI%u2019m super excited by the music I%u2019m hearing, the people I%u2019m meeting and the artists we%u2019re speaking to. I%u2019m elated to the fact that we%u2019re starting to release records and cannot wait to get started and see them in the racks.%u201D
Mango (Millionhands, 2012)
Mango, an artist who has himself released on Wall of Sound, Fine, Made To Play and Front Room under various guises, heads up the first release with a breezy, engaging two tracker of disco-infused house-not-house.
The title track treads a loose-legged, block party vibe punctured with rich, elastic synths that slide around the mix creating a gloriously woozy vibe while B-side cut %u2019Redlight Feelgood%u2019 builds broken drums, sultry vocals and phased sweeps into an incredibly intense dance floor burner. Both tracks, although musically different share a distinct charm and magpie-like approach to composition that makes them utterly engaging throughout.
Drawing inspiration from the company%u2019s Ltd Edition T%u2019s, the first 50 12%u2019s of each and every release on Millionhands Music will feature hand screen printed, hand stamped artwork, with Mango%u2019s %u2018Breathe Easy%u2019 being the first, Late-September, al all vinyl retailers.
