So when one of the world's biggest dance music playlists hijacks the term and puts Tiesto at #1 of a "Deep House" playlist, you know that finding authentic Deep House is going to be a struggle. Yet, despite these apparent barriers, we have continued to push our brand of Deep House, a sound closely connected to the genre's origins in 80s New York and Chicago. One of this year's successes has been Mallin. His killer cut "Off My Mind" is no "banger", yet it has continued to woo DJs and music fans with its slow-burning, heart-warming vibes. Sales charts and statement playlists have delivered incredible support for this young, West Midlands-based producer. Now, with "Set Me Free", he releases another low-slung beauty. Again, there is not an Instagram drop in sight. Instead, we have 6 minutes and 5 seconds of pure bliss to shine some light on this cold, dark time of year. Superb work.
