SAEdeep returns to Piston Recordings for his second outing with the superb ‘Words Were Not Enough’ This one follows his very well received debut slice ‘True Intentions EP’ and follows suit in the quality department. Hailing from South Africa, SAEdeep is a relative newcomer on the scene, he released his first tracks on SA based label, Deep Clicks Music. His sound is refreshing and wholesome with real deep flavour, which is something we love at Piston. Great to see him back.

‘Words Were Not Enough’ gets the release underway with a wonderfully organic piano sequence and ambient noise in the background. Chunky, live sounding beats give a distinct humanised vibe as warm pads match the tones of the piano. A groovy plucked bassline adds depth as arpeggiated synths reveal their presence in the spectrum. A sublime, laidback groover that does not disappoint. ‘Stable Release’ rounds this one out and opens with a cleverly constructed mis of live sounding drums with an exotic twist. Hypnotic notes remain a constant in the groove as smooth, housey vibes are boosted with warm chords and a subby bassline. Wholly infectious and intriguing and perfect for the late-night session.
